Scripture: Colossians 1:16-17: For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
1 Main Thought: God is the Creator and the Sustainer of all things. He made all things and takes care of all things.
1 Main Question To Discuss: If God made me and God cares for me, what are some areas of my life that I need to trust Him better in?
1 Main Thing To Pray For Each Other: What can I pray about for each of you?
Suggested Prayer Items: Thank God for making you the way He did. God never makes mistakes. Thank God for taking such good care of you. Thank God for sending Jesus to provide spiritual healing and new life.
Recommendations for leading this time:
1. This family devotional time will look different for each family depending on the stage of life your family is in. For example, if you have smaller kids this time should probably be limited to 5 minutes or so. For some this time might last longer and lead to more in-depth discussion.
2. We encourage you to open a physical copy of the bible to read the verse each week.
3. Enjoy this time. Don’t be intimidated. This gets easier and better over time. The goal is to create an atmosphere of worship in your family life.
