Proverbs 3:5-6 Family Worship Guide

You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.

Deuteronomy 6:7

Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

1 Main Thought: When we trust God and lean on Him, life is so much better and so much easier to understand.

1 Main Question To Discuss: What are some ways that we can trust God in our lives?

1 Main Thing To Pray For Each Other: What can I pray about for each of you?

Suggested Prayer Items: Ask God to help you trust Him more. Pray for the wisdom to understand that that when we trust God and walk with Him, He guides us and leads us in life.

Recommendations for leading this time:
1.    This family devotional time will look different for each family depending on the stage of life your family is in. For example, if you have smaller kids this time should probably be limited to 5 minutes or so. For some this time might last longer and lead to more in-depth discussion.
2.    We encourage you to open a physical copy of the bible to read the verse each week.
3.    Enjoy this time. Don’t be intimidated. This gets easier and better over time. The goal is to create an atmosphere of worship in your family life.
