Psalm 63:1 Family Worship Guide

Family Worship Guide

You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.

Deuteronomy 6:7

Scripture: Psalm 63:1: O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; my soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

Questions To Discuss: Does my soul thirst for God? Have I come to a point yet of understanding that drinking of the things of this world leave my parched and spiritually thirsty?

Main Thoughts: We were all born with a spiritual void in our hearts….a void that can only be filled by God. As we enter into a relationship with God through faith in Christ and begin to pursue God (reading the bible, praying, building friendships with other believers, serving others in the church, community, and world, etc), we will begin to have a deeper hunger for more of God.

Main Things To Pray For Each Other: Pray for our hearts to swell up in worship for our great God. Pray that He would have first place in all areas of our lives. Ask God to give us a desire for Him that exceeds anything else.

Suggested Prayer Items: God, we love You today because You first loved us. We thank You for allowing us to hear Your message and believe. We ask You to help us be disciplined in our lives to do the things that You have called us to do. We want to know You and love You more than anything or anyone else. Please help us to keep our eyes on You!
