Stephen Carson // Lead Pastor
Stephen has been the pastor of Connection Church Belle Fourche since January 1, 2014. He has a passion for expository bible preaching, missions, and seeing people connect with God and others. Stephen and Kaye have been married since June of 2002. They have two sons. Stephen has been in vocational ministry since 2002. He served as the student pastor at Longview Point Baptist Church in Hernando, MS from 2002-2007. During this time, Stephen earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree and a Master of Divinity degree. Upon completion of seminary, Stephen and Kaye moved overseas to Kampala, Uganda serving as missionaries through the International Mission Board. They completed their two-year term in October of 2009. From 2010 through 2013 Stephen served as the Missions Pastor, again at Longview Point. He served in that position until moving to Belle Fourche to be the pastor of Connection Church. Stephen is also the Send Network Director for the Dakotas, desiring to help plant new churches throughout North Dakota and South Dakota.
Chad Logan // Missions and Discipleship Pastor
Chad joined the staff at Connection Church on June 1, 2024. Chad has served as a missionary with the IMB, a church planter with NAMB, as well as a Pastor, Student Pastor, and Worship Pastor. He and his wife of 30 years, Keyesy, have served in Spain, the United Kingdom, Hawaii, Missouri, Louisiana, and Mississippi. They have two children, Kai and Naomi. Chad has earned a Master of Christian Education as well as a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Chad loves everything baseball and Lego! He is also an avid Ole Miss fan.
Ashton Rone // Worship Pastor
Ashton came on as worship pastor in January of 2014. Ashton and Emily have been married since July 29, 2017. Their son Cedar was born March 2022. Ashton is driven to lead people in worship and seeks to grow with the local church in finding ways to worship God in all that we do. Ashton grew up in Hernando, Mississippi and began to serve in the youth worship ministry at his local church in high school. While attending college he served as a worship intern for several churches in Mississippi. One of these included Longview Point Baptist Church where he became reconnected with Stephen Carson who asked him to pray about leading worship in South Dakota. Ashton is thirty one and a graduate of Black Hills State University. He is currently attending seminary online and He and Emily look forward to continuing to serve at Connection with their church family.
Jenelle Willert // Secretary
Jenelle grew up in Colorado, moved to South Dakota in 2004, and has been moving around the state ever since. She began attending Connection Church after moving to Belle Fourche in 2013. The welcoming church body reeled her in and she began volunteering soon after. She currently serves as our part-time secretary. Jenelle and her husband have three children.
Bethany Savery // Children's Director
Bethany joined Belle Fourche Connection staff in September 2022. She is married to Joseph and they have 4 children. Bethany went to school for elementary education. She has worked as an Elementary Aid, led many Children's ministries including American Heritage Girls, Children's Church, VBS, and directed youth camps. She has served alongside her husband in ministry for 14 years. She is passionate about leading children to Christ and equipping families to raise disciples.
Joe Savery // Student Pastor
Joe became youth pastor at Connection Church in September 2022. He was called to ministry at youth camp in 2003 and started serving at his home church in Custer, SD. He served at Hills of Grace Fellowship in Rapid City from 2008-2016. In 2016 he was called as pastor of Calvary Baptist church in Blunt, SD. He served there until being called to serve in Belle Fourche. Joe has always had a heart to lead and disciple students, also working with the DBC Youth Camp.
Damen Woolsey // Church Planting Missionary
Damen and his wife Kristi started South Dakota Kids Belong in 2017 to dramatically improve the outcomes and experience for kids in foster care by empowering faith, business, and government leaders to work together. Before he did this, he was a lead pastor in Mobridge, SD. He has a heart for vulnerable people, Jesus, and starting ministries and seeing them thrive. Kristi and Damen have been married since July 14, 2007, and have three children. Damen has worked or volunteered in ministry since 2004. He graduated from Dickinson State University in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, during which time he volunteered with Crew, a campus ministry. After graduation, he gained experience as a financial advisor, then later worked in the oilfield as a roughneck. 2012-2017, he earned a Master of Arts in theological studies from Liberty University. He and his family moved to Belle Fourche in 2016, attending and volunteering at Connection Church in various roles. He enjoys snorkeling, fishing, and spearfishing with his family. He loves the people and the mission of South Dakota Kids Belong and is thankful to all the people and leaders in SD who care deeply about kids in foster care having belonging.
